Ref: NP037-14The Role
TECHNICAL:
• Supervision of construction contractor
• Verification and monitoring of all inspection and testing activities as required by the project specifications, standards, codes and approved inspection and test plans;
• Monitor execution of day to day construction activities including electrical and instrumentation installation works
• Monitor / inspect subcontractors’ and suppliers’ procedures, materials, documentation, testing activities, calibration activities for compliance;
• Progressive compilation of project data records (manufacturers data record);
• Carry out all inspections In conjunction with the discipline Engineers,
• Liaise with the client’s representatives in relation to standard, code, specification and project requirements;
• Ensure all manufacturers data record sign offs are carried out by all relevant parties progressively and in a timely manner;
• Verify and ensure timely completion of subcontractor quality documentation
• Reviewing subcontractor quality documentation;
• Conduction and supervision of Receiving Inspection, In-Process Inspection and Final Inspection of electrical and instrumentation related products and construction work
• Completing and signing of inspection and test reports
• Inspection of cable ladder installation and documentation
• Inspection of cable pulling, dressing, glanding and termination activities and documentation
• Inspection of instrumentation installation activities and documentation
• Inspection and verification of instrumentation calibration activities and documentation
• Inspection and monitoring of electrical equipment testing including insulation checks, megger checks, continuity testing, resistance checks, earthing checks
• Inspection of High Voltage switchgear installation and documentation
• Inspection of telecommunication equipment installation and documentation
• Monitoring of Hazardous Area installation and inspection activities
• Inspection of field junction box, distribution board and electrical panel installation and associated documentation
• Conducting final inspection of electrical and instrumentation installation prior to system handover punchlisting
• Verification of punchlist items closeout
• Reviewing and verification of As Built construction drawings
• Reviewing project specifications
• Carry out a variety of construction/precommissioning/commissioning related tasks
• Other duties as required.
DIRECT REPORTS -Nil, however will monitor performance of subcontractor’s QC and construction team
ROTATION: To be discussed to meet project requirements
CONTRACT TERM: 3 Months approx
STARTING DATE: February 2014
RequirementsEssential Skill/Qualifications/Experience: • Previous construction experience within the oil and gas industry • Previous exposure to high voltage electrical installation including switchgear and electric drives • Exposure to Hazardous Area installations • Instrument calibrations including ultrasonic flow meter, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters etc. • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable role • A working knowledge of BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA codes and standards relating to electrical and instrumentation work • Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to electrical and instrumentation work Preferred Skills/Qualifications: • Knowledge of safety legislation and regulations • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Package. Familiar with other computer packages (eg. MS Project, Outlook, WinPCS, etc) • Hazardous Area installation and inspection experience is an advantage • Ability to perform well under pressure • Positively communicate and relate to people of all levels • Work well within a teamwork environment • Effective time management skills with ability to prioritise workload • Problem solving skills Internal Relationships: • Project QC Manager • Project Site Team • Enerflex Australasia personnel External Relationships: • Client representatives • Subcontractors |
